Fabulous Phil vs Tiger Roar!!!

Phil Mickelson capped off a tumultuous summer at home with a spectacular rally Sunday to win the Tour Championship but still saw his rival walk off with the bigger pay cheque.

Mickelson won the battle, a three-stroke victory at East Lake to cap an emotional year and earned a $3 million bonus, on top of his $1.35 million for winning the Tour Championship, while Woods won the war, a second-time FedEx Cup champion despite a pitched Sunday afternoon that taxed pocket calculators and prognosticators everywhere.

The world number one claimed a USD10 million bonus as FedEx Cup champion.

Never have they shared the spotlight, each going home with a trophy that was meaningful in its own way.

Brilliance at the BMW

Despite without any major , Tiger Woods won for the sixth time this year (71st career victory) by a massive eight shots at the BMW Championship in Chicago. This win has assured Woods the No. 1 ranking going into the final tournament of the FedEx Cup and its $10 million prize. After Shooting a course record of 62, he never looked back and shoot another brilliance 68 and won for the fifth time at Cog Hill, and it was his 10th career victory by at least eight shots.

Tiger Woods' lead at the top of the world rankings with 16.04 points bigger than it has been for the past 12 months.

Furyk's five-under round of 66 saw him make a late charge up the leaderboard though there was never any real chance of him overhauling Woods.

As Furyk said:“It felt like we had a tournament within a tournament,” . “Tiger was seven ahead. He was kind of running away. It was kind of a tournament for second place.”
Without the points reset, which narrows the gap between Nos. 1 and 2 to 250 points and guarantees the FedEx Cup to any player that is in the top 5 that wins the Tour Championship, Woods would need only to remain upright and lucid to claim his second FedEx Cup.
