My Game, My World - Camilo Villegas

He is a professional golfer, celebrities, model and a God to Columbian golfer and most importantly Camilo Villegas ( pronounce as Ka-me-low Vee-jay-gaas) is one of the young millionare in today's golf industry. Born in January 1982 and took up the game as a child. Graduate from University of Florida and was player of the year in 2002 and 2004. In 2006 "Golf Digest" named him as " the most ripped player on tour".

He began playing on the PGA Tour in 2004 and earned his PGA Tour card just prior to the 2006 season. He had a blistering start to his 2006 rookie year on tour, with two second place finishes and a third place (at The Player Championship) in his first nine events.

Villegas' tremendous physical power allows him to drive the ball far away from the tee box, averaging 302.1 yards in the 2006 season. He also adapts a homemade putting routine: while he reads a putt, he crouches down parallel to the ground without touching it, extending his left leg back while balancing with his right leg and his putter to get a better view of the slope of the green. He is given the nickname "Hombre AraƱa" (Spiderman) for this posture.

This spiderman was also become the first player in 11 years to win post his two US PGA Tour victories in consecutive starts. Three week after winning the BMW championship, he stormed from 5 stoke behindin final round before beating Sergio in the play off at the USD8.4M Tour Championship.

In 2008 alone he managed to earn USD3.910M for 23 event he played. Quiet awesome for 26 year old columbian who is now staying Jupiter Florida.

Villegas is currently sponsored by the Acushnet Company and plays under the Cobra name. As of June 1, 2008, Villegas plays the following equipment;

Driver: King Cobra L4V 9°

Fairway Woods: King Cobra Speed LD F 3 & 5

Iron: King Cobra Carbon CB #3

Irons: King Cobra Pro CB 4-PW

Wedges: Titleist Vokey Design 54° & 58°

Putter: Scotty Cameron Circa '62 #6

Ball: Titleist Pro V1

I had today tried to adapts his putting routine during my President's Cup golf tournament. My back hurts and my score suck!! I wonder how he managed to do that for 18 consecutive holes!!
